What is Exilis?
Exilis treatments offer cosmetic improvement in skin laxity without surgery. Exilis’ monopolar radiofrequency allows for deep penetration within the fat cells without the risk of burning your skin. This innovative technology is non-invasive and safe for all skin types. Patients will see improvement after just one treatment session, but we usually suggest a package of four to six treatments spaced a couple of weeks apart to produce maximum results.​

The Treatment
Prior to an Exilis session, you will be asked to remove any metal that you might be wearing. The physician will place a grounding pad on your body, usually in the center of your back. During the session, the Exilis computer-controlled device is guided over the treatment area. Patients feel a warming sensation as the energy is delivered to the deeper layers of skin. The ability to focus the energy on specific areas at the targeted depth of penetration makes Exilis a highly effective aesthetic solution. The device engages the cooling system to heat deep tissue as it is constantly monitoring the skin’s temperature facilitating a comfortable, even treatment. To favorably influence the upper skin layers, only controlled heating is engaged to redefine loose skin and smooth wrinkles. In general, patients undergo four to six sessions, depending on how they respond.

Is it painful?
While the Exilis is heating the dermis, patients remain relaxed and pain-free. The system's digital thermometer provides constant feedback as to the skin's temperature, thus ensuring a comfortable, even treatment. EFC minimizes risk of burns, delivers more energy over shorter time period, reaches therapeutic temperature rapidly, and and eliminates energy peaks thus preventing discomfort.

What kind of results can I expect?
Some patients see results immediately. However, for most patients the results are gradual over a three to six month period as the skin tightens and more new collagen is formed. Depending on the area treated, the skin laxity and your desired results, multiple treatments may be required.  Fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth fill in, while the deeper frown lines and grooves are softened. Facial skin and the skin along the neck can be tightened providing a mild, non-surgical browlift or facelift effect. This tightening effect can be used to firm up loose or sagging tissue in other parts of the body. This same deep thermal tissue heating may also have benefits for treating acne, acne scarring, and stretch marks.

The recommended course of treatment is generally four to six sessions, one every two weeks. You can have additional treatments if desired. Patients show persistent results at least six months after the Exilis treatment.

How Long will the Results of Exilis Last?
Treatment results last from 12 to 18 months. Your skin will continue to age as it has in the past, and eventually, you may wish to have another anti-aging procedure.

Is Exilis Safe?
Yes. While this is a relatively new procedure, the use of RF energy in other areas of medicine is not. The worldwide safety record of this procedure has revealed very few adverse effects thus far.
