Don't suffer with a neck you hate!  There are options available for every hope and desired outcome.

 

While the aging neck is commonly dealt with during facelift (and necklift) surgery, there are occasions were isolated procedures can be beneficial to a patient. When evaluated by Dr. Atkins and Dr. Frodel, they will first determine whether non-invasive or minimally invasive procedures might be worthwhile for you. The former could include Botox® to muscle bands in the neck, and/or radiofrequency skin tightening (Exilis). Minimally invasive procedures could include liposuction or laser lipolysis (SmartLipo™).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Besides facelift surgery for elevation of neck tissues, other surgical options may exist. In the younger patient without much skin laxity liposuction or laser lipolysis (SmartLipo™) alone or in combination with neck muscle tightening under the chin may be in order. Not uncommonly, a patient may have a recessed chin so a chin implant can be placed at the same time to optimize the appearance of the neck-jaw line. These can all be performed through a small incision under the chin. Finally, in patients with a bit more neck skin laxity but with limited jowl formation, the skin and muscle in the side and back of the neck under the jaw can be tightened via incisions around the earlobe and behind the ears. These procedures are performed under local anesthesia, either with or without sedation, in our operating room. Sutures are removed at about 5-6 days after surgery and shortly thereafter you can resume normal activities.
